Kilgore Manufacturing Company, Inc. was contracted by a client in Virginia to complete a manifold within a high pressure air system application. With our long-established expertise in CNC milling, we set out straight to work. We were given pieces of 7075-T651 aluminum with starting dimensions of 5.25" long, 4" wide, and 9.50" high. Following a customer-supplied blueprint and employing our own 3D surface model, we used a Haas VF-4SS equipped with a 1000 psi thru spindle coolant and a TR210 Trunnion that provided 5-axis simultaneous motion and/or positioning, we constructed a series of 20 manifolds with finished dimensions of 4.98" long, 3.98" wide, and 9.23" high, with tolerances as close as +/- .001". We ...

Kilgore Manufacturing Company, Inc. was contracted by a client in Michigan to complete a manifold within a high pressure air system application. With our long-established expertise in CNC milling, we set out straight to work. We were given pieces of 6061-T6 aluminum with starting dimensions of 5.25" long, 4" wide, and 9.50" high. Following a customer-supplied blueprint and employing our own 3D surface model, we used a Haas VF-4SS equipped with a 1000 psi thru spindle coolant and a TR160 Trunnion that provided 5-axis simultaneous motion and/or positioning, we constructed a series of 500 and counting manifolds with finished dimensions of 4.98" long, 3.98" wide, and 9.23" high, with tolerances as ...

Known for our command of CNC Swiss machining, Kilgore Manufacturing Company, Inc. was contracted by a Virginia company to build a high-performance 2011-T3 aluminum stem for use within a high-pressure air system application. Strictly following the customer-supplied print in addition to our own 3D surface model, we employed our Citizen M32 Swiss-style lathe to insert grooves and drill holes throughout each part as per client specifications. We then applied O-rings to each stem and followed up by assembling them into the main component. Having conducted a thorough pressure testing, we were ready to begin shipping the components to our client The precision of our craftsmanship made a notable impact: what began as raw ...

Drawing on our renowned CNC Swiss machining expertise, we were more than able to meet the high expectations of our Ohio-based client in developing a brass spool valve to be used within a high pressure application. By training our Citizen M32 Swiss-style lathe on each piece of 360 brass, then by inserting corresponding grooves as per the print and drilling Ø.128" holes, we soon achieved a finalized component of 3.21" in length and .244" in, O.D. with tightest tolerances reaching ±.001". Finishing each piece with Brite Dip, we've thus far constructed over 30,400 such brass spool valves to date for the Ohio high pressure gases industry. When a client in Florida contacted Kilgore Manufacturing Company, Inc. to produce a steel female crimp assembly for use within a high-pressure fluid transfer application, Kilgore not only had the immediate and necessary means for planning and execution, but a lengthy and proven track-record in CNC turning, bending, and assembly of such types of parts for various "high-pressure" systemsFollowing the client's own blueprint as well as confecting its own 2D CAD drawing specifications, Kilgore set to work on producing the various steel parts. For the CNC turning process, we used a Mori Seiki Frontier L2 lathe and an Okuma LB3000 lathe to manufacture the machine insert as well as the adjoining nut, employing 12L14 steel ...

A customer that makes personal rescue devices approached Kilgore to 5-Axis CNC machine 50 aluminum chassis. We first CNC milled the 14.734" long, 8.649" wide and 2.641" high component using our Hass VF-4SS machine, which featured 1,000 PSI thru spindle coolant and a TR210 trunnion, which provided the necessary 5-Axis simultaneous motion and positioning.
After each of the 3.5 lbs, 6061 aluminum chassis were milled, they were polished and anodized to MIL-A8625 type II, class 1 specifications. During the entire process, the experts at Kilgore were able to hold tightest tolerances of ±.001”. For more information about this CNC machining, project please see the details below.
